Projects
A project is a job that you bid on, for example a new medical office building. It keeps the facts about the job: the client, the site address, the time zone of the site, the market sector, and the people who work on the estimate. Each project has one or more bids, one for each general contractor or owner you send a price to.
| Menu | Estimator > Projects |
| Permission | View all projects and bids, or Manage own projects and bids |
| Feature | Estimator |
What you see depends on your role. If the menu, a button or a setting on this page is missing, ask your administrator to give you the permission listed above or to turn on the feature. Only administrators can turn features on and change site settings.
Find a project
Open Estimator > Projects. The list shows the projects you can see, in the order of their names.
- To find a project, type a part of its name, its project number or its client in the search box, and press Enter.
- To show only the projects in one status, pick the status in the All statuses list.
- To open a project, click its name or Open.
If your administrator lets you choose the layout of a list, two buttons at the top right of the list change between the List layout and the Grid layout. The Grid layout shows the project, its number and client, and its status in columns.
If you can manage only your own projects, the list shows the projects you lead or are on the team of. A note under the search box tells you so.
Add a project
To add a project and its first bid together, use the New Bid wizard. To add only the project:
- Open Estimator > Projects.
- Click Add project.
- Fill in the form. Only Name, Project number and Time zone are necessary.
- Click Save.
The project page opens.
| Field | What to enter |
|---|---|
| Name | The project name, as the bid invitation gives it. |
| Project number | A number that is unique to this project. A new project gets the next number of the year, for example P-2026-0001. You can change it. |
| Client | The owner or developer of the project. |
| Status | Where the project is in your pipeline: Prospect, Bidding, Submitted, Won, Lost, No bid or Cancelled. |
| Site | The address of the job site. First pick the Country. The form then shows the address fields of that country. You can keep the site empty when you do not know it yet. |
| Time zone | The time zone of the site. You enter and see the due times of the bids in this time zone. |
| Market sector | The kind of building, for example Healthcare, Education or Data center. |
| Construction type | New construction, Tenant improvement, Renovation, Addition or Service work. |
| Building area (sq ft) | The floor area of the building. |
| Estimate lead | The estimator who leads the bid. A new project has you as its lead. |
| Team | The other people who work on the estimate. Click Browse users, type a part of a name, and click the person. |
| Scope notes | Notes about the scope of work, for example the systems you price. |
The project page
The project page shows the project number and status at the top, the project facts, the site address and its time zone, the scope notes, and the bids of the project.
If you can manage the project, the page also shows these buttons:
- Edit project opens the project form.
- Add bid adds a bid to the project. See Bids.
- Delete deletes the project. The site asks you to confirm.
Under Bid package, the page shows the number of documents, sheets and addenda of the project, with links to Documents and Sheets.
Change or delete a project
- To change a project, open it and click Edit project. Change the fields, and click Save.
- To delete a project, open it and click Delete, or click Delete on its row in the list. Then confirm. Deleting a project also deletes all of its bids, documents and sheets. You cannot undo it.
Who can see and change projects
Your administrator gives you one of these permissions:
| Permission | You can |

| Manage own projects and bids | Add projects. See and change the projects you lead or are on the team of, and their bids. |
