Labor Factors

A labor factor multiplies the labor hours to account for the conditions of a job, such as 1.10 for ceilings of 15 to 20 ft. The factor library holds them as questions and choices: the factors of a question, such as Ceiling height, are the choices the job conditions wizard offers.

The Estimator sample catalog recipe adds a sample library of eight questions, such as building type, ceiling height, schedule and occupancy.

The list is in the order the wizard asks the questions. Each row shows the question and the choice, the wizard step and what the factor applies to, and the factor.

Add or change a factor

  1. Click Add factor, or the name of a factor.
  2. Fill in the fields, and click Save.

ChoiceThe answer, such as 15 to 20 ft.
FactorThe multiplier of the labor hours: 1.10 for 10% more hours, 1.00 for no change, 0.95 for 5% fewer. It is above 0 and at most 10.

Labor categoryThe labor category of a factor that applies to one, such as Rough-in.
OrderThe order of the choice in its question, and of the question in its step.
DescriptionWhat the choice means, shown under the question in the wizard.

Give each question a choice with a factor of 1.00: the wizard picks it until the estimator chooses another.

Deleting a factor does not change the job conditions that used it: they keep the value they had.
