Estimate Templates
An estimate template holds what every estimate of a kind starts with:
- The recap settings: overhead, profit, sales tax, contingency, bonds and rounding.
- The breakdown, such as General conditions, Service and distribution and Lighting.
- Lines that every job needs, such as supervision, lift rental, permits and other direct job expenses.

The electrical package adds the Electrical – Commercial template.
Start an estimate from a template
- On the project page, click Add estimate.
- Select the Template. The default template is selected for you. Select No template to start empty.
- Click Save.
The new estimate gets the recap settings, the breakdown and the lines of the template. Set the quantities of the lines, such as the weeks of supervision, in the workspace.
Save an estimate as a template
- Open the workspace of an estimate, then click Settings.
- Click Save as template.
- Enter the Name and, if you want, a Description.
- Select New estimates start from this template to make it the default.
- Click Save.
The template takes the recap settings, the breakdown and the manual lines of the current revision. Item and assembly lines are left out, because their quantities belong to the job.
Change or delete a template
On Estimator > Estimate templates, click Edit to change the name, the description or the default, or Delete to remove a template. Only one template is the default. Estimates made from a template keep what they got from it.
