Processing Jobs

The site does some work in the background, so you do not wait for it. For example, after you upload a drawing set, the site splits it into sheets. Each piece of work is a processing job. The Processing jobs page shows every job, where it is, why it failed, and what it cost.

What you see depends on your role. If the menu, a button or a setting on this page is missing, ask your administrator to give you the permission listed above or to turn on the feature. Only administrators can turn features on and change site settings.

Read the list

The newest job is at the top. Each row shows:

  • what the job does, such as Split into sheets or Read a title block with AI, and its project;
  • when it was queued and when it finished;
  • its status: Queued, Running with its progress, Succeeded, Failed or Canceled;
  • From cache, when the site used the result of an earlier job with the same file;
  • the attempts, when the job ran more than one time;
  • the time the site spent, and the AI requests and tokens, when the job used AI;
  • why the last attempt failed, in red.

To show one status only, pick it in the list above the jobs.

The jobs of a project with an open bid due within 48 hours run first.

When a job fails

The site tries a job again after a failure that another attempt can fix, such as a service that did not answer. It waits 30 seconds, then longer after each attempt. After the last attempt, the job is Failed.

Some failures cannot be fixed by another attempt, such as a file that is not a PDF. These jobs fail at once. Correct the cause first: for a document, upload the correct file, or click Split again on the Documents page.

Retry or cancel a job

  • Click Retry on a failed or canceled job to run it again with all its attempts.
  • Click Cancel on a queued job so that it does not run. A job that already runs completes its work, but it stays Canceled.

On the pages of a project

The Documents page of a project shows the jobs that are queued or running, such as Reading the PDF 5% or 1 queued. When a job finishes, the page reloads and shows the sheets.
